For years we have been advising our patients to leave stressful work situations and to terminate relationships in their personal and professional lives that cause them great stress. We have finally decided to take our own advice! We have thus terminated almost all of our insurance contracts in order to reduce our paperwork and improve our own quality of life as well as well as the quality of care we provide to our patients. Thus we are proud to say that we accept patients with any insurance and finally regardless of their insurance. Unfortunately, we can no longer afford to bill most insurances except for Medicare and Blue Cross HMO as part of CCPN. This means that we are not "preferred" providers or "in network providers" for any other plans. What this means is that regardless of your insurance status you can receive your care in our office. We will collect a $75 minimum at the time of each visit. You will receive a bill at the time of the visit or the next day for the remaining balance depending on the complexity of the visit and additional lab, diagnostic or therapeutic services you receive in our office. Once your bill is paid in full we will provide you with a super-bill that you can forward to your insurance company. They will reimburse you according to their fee schedule. We have set this cash discounted fee roughly according to San Francisco Medicare reimbursement rates.
Patients with SLO Select IPA and most other HMO's must see an in-network, contracted, assigned physician. Your HMO will not pay you anything for services rendered to you in our office.
Blue Cross HMO subscribers must either be assigned to us by the HMO or call CCPN to request assignment to one of our providers. Please look at your card and see the name of the physician you have been assigned to.
